Canaccord Wealth appoints Adam Smith as COO of Wealth Planning

London, 30 September 2026: Canaccord Wealth, a leading UK wealth management business, has announced the strategic hire of industry leader, Adam Smith, as Chief Operating Officer of its wealth planning division, as the firm accelerates the expansion of its wealth planning offering and broader integrated client proposition.
 
Adam - who brings more than 25 years’ experience in financial services, technology, product and commercial leadership - joins Canaccord Wealth from Quilter, where he spent two years as programme director, leading their advice transformation. Prior to that, he spent six years on the executive committee at Fairstone including managing their discretionary investment management business, Fairstone Private Wealth. He has also held senior leadership roles at Intrinsic, Cofunds and Legal & General.
 
In his new role at Canaccord Wealth, Adam will support the continued development of the wealth planning division and its further integration within the broader wealth management offering, with a focus on operational effectiveness, client experience and helping to deliver the division’s strategic ambitions.
